Conex is a set of modular housing designed to house seasonal workers who work in the strawberry harvest in Cartaya Huelva, Spain.

Most of the workers are adequately housed, but there are other cases in which neither the administrations nor the employer is responsible for housing them, resulting in situations of overcrowding, situations in which they live in shacks or in the worst case, in the street.
The birth of this project is based on this problem, so it provides as a solution modular and ephemeral housing, which can be adjusted according to the demand of workers in each work season.

Traditional Japanese architecture, as well as the concept of ephemeral space, have helped to define this project.

One of the characteristics of these dwellings is that all the elements are prefabricated in the workshop and assembled on site.

Their fiber cement enclosures can be moved, altered in appearance with another type of enclosure, or even removed, to facilitate the modularity of the space.
This 37 m2 house for two people is built with 6 modules of 2.50 m by 2.50 m, giving each room a usable area of 6.25 m2.

One of the peculiarities of this project is that hardly any screws are needed for assembly, as all the joints are assembled.
